The “Mezuzah” comprises Handwritten piece of parchment called a klaf in decorative silver case with the Hebrew letter Shin ש on top. inside is the Scroll inscribed with Hebrew Bible verses. (Deuteronomy 6:4–9, 11:13–21; Numbers 15:37–41), the first two sections of the Shema Yisrael prayer, beginning with the eternal words “Hear o Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One.” These selections both contain God’s instruction to affix the mezuzah: “You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, Hebrew וכתבתם על מזוזות ביתך ובשעריך.
